  • Equation Leopard Series: A development case of an engine cover plate

    In May 2023, in response to the core component requirements of the Fangcheng Leopard series of vehicles, our company undertook the development project of the EP040-2146036F_ differential cover plate. This is the first time the company has ventured into the field of cast iron cover plate blanks. The customer has explicitly requested to replace traditional aluminum materials with cast iron and achieve a thin-walled structure design of 4-6mm. It is necessary to simultaneously match the assembly standards of the Fangcheng Leopard model and the pickup truck model to ensure the timely launch of the two products.

    To overcome technical difficulties, the company promptly established a special technical breakthrough team, focusing on three core challenges: the forming stability of thin-walled blank casting, the uniform spraying process on multi-angle depth surfaces, and the control of stress and deformation during the processing. The team worked day and night to solve the technical pain points in the industry one by one by optimizing the structure of the casting mold, innovating the design of the spraying fixture, and introducing the stress release technology of step-by-step processing.

    After 21 days of urgent efforts, the EP040-2146036F_ differential cover plate was successfully mass-produced. The product not only precisely meets the design requirements of 4-6mm thin-walled cast iron, but also achieves the customer's expectations in terms of dimensional accuracy, wear resistance and lightweight indicators. Moreover, with the material upgrade solution from aluminum to iron, it has enabled the customer to achieve the dual goals of cost optimization and performance improvement, effectively supporting the timely launch of the Fangcheng Leopard series and pickup truck models to the market. It demonstrates our company's technical strength and efficient response capability in the field of customized development of core automotive components.
